Legislation Details

The purpose of this legislation to support S. 2825 titled “Downwinders Act” and to advocate the Navajo Nation’s support of an amendment the Downwinders Act to expand the “affected area” definition to include the following: “All land within the exterior boundaries of the Navajo Indian Reservation or of the Eastern Navajo Agency, all land within the limits of dependent Navajo Indian communities, all Navajo Indian allotments, all land owned in fee by the Navajo Nation, and all other land held in trust for, owned in fee by, or leased by the United States to the Navajo Nation.”
