The purpose of this legislation to support the Eastern Navajo Diné Against Uranium Mining and the Petition to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights against the United States that states the United States by its acts and omissions have contaminated and continue to contaminate natural resources in the Navajo communities of Crownpoint Chapter and Church Rock Chapter, the United States has violated Petitioners’ human rights and breached its obligations under the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man.
