Legislation Description
This legislation, if approved, would refer to the Diné voters, by referendum, the question whether the Navajo Nation should opt in to the federal death penalty under 18 U.S.C. § 3598 or remain opted out, with either decision changeable only by a later vote of the Navajo People, and would approve the ballot language, establish the timelines for the referendum election, and direct that funding be identified and made available to conduct it.
